I have been debating whether to have the breast cancer gene test done for the last two years. My paternal grandmother and greatgrandmother died of it (in their 70s), but my father didn't have any sisters, so we don't know if it's a gene or not. My father's side of the family is Jewish. I am worried about the expense, the insurance implications and the sudden decision I would have to make about whether I would want to do a double mascectomy, particularly at this time in my life, when we are trying to adopt a second child. I am 35. Your advice is much appreciated.
