View Full Version : FMS and Thyroid Connection

Here's my two cents worth:

I have tried nearly every drug anyone thought might work with little success. IMO fibro is not a muscle or rheme problem, it is thyroid and CNS related.

Get your thyroid thoroughly checked out. I was dx with fibro mid 80's. I was dx with hypothyroidism over 25 years ago. Recently my hypothyroidism has been treated properly and I have few fibro symptoms.

The blood tests you need:

Free T3
Free T4
TSH
plus antibodies

The thyroid board is a good place to post the test results, lots of really bright people there. Recently, the connection between hypothyroidism and fibro has been noted by several doctors.

Thyroid may not be the cause of all fibro symptoms, but in my case it sure was the cause of most. Please, everyone, get your thyroid checked out. The results of the blood test just may be the beginning of you feeling better.

Best book I've found is The Thyroid Solution. Got is a the library.

I have had my thyroid checked twice I think but the results came back normal. But reading the symptoms of hypothyroidism I believe that is part of my problem. I just have too many weird symptoms that dont make sense to me. I just asked for a copy of my medical records so I can see the results for myself. They should be here in a few weeks I hope.
