I posted this in the addiction forum but I just wanted to let others know my experience with magnesium/calcium supplement that might help in the battle to quit smoking.
I recently started taking the vitamin for osteoporosis prevention and almost immediately the craving for a cigarette disappeared. I gave up about 6 weeks ago but felt constantly slightly jittery/unrelaxed. I now feel naturally very relaxed and it has made it so much easier.
Hope this helps.

I have heard that magnesium is good for proper nerve function, and with calcium, can have a soothing effect. I take them also. Congratulations Sue! : )

I also heard that magnsium is good for helping to relax your nerves. I quit smoking 2 weeks ago yesterday and have been taking a magnesium supplement along with my calcium and the withdrawals have been a lot easier than I thought. I still get the craving now and then and just deal with it, but I really think the magnesium is helping because I tried to quit 2 years ago, before taking magnesium & calcium, and I just couldn't do it.
