I am a total newbie to GH. I have experienced Oral herpes sores for 30 years..this is my 1st time w/ the genital. Other than what I read about the blister sores..that I thought were boils and BROKE!! Needless to say, by the time I got to the doctor ( 2) weeks later OH MY GOD!!! I really had no clue what it was...anyway..my big problem is the insane itching!! It wakes me up all nite, and forget sitting at my desk all day. I need help. The doctor has me on Valtrex...but I need something that works topically ( that I may have at home already)?? The itching is primarily in the pubic hair area..as opposed to the more "sensitive tissue" Can someone PLEEEEEZ help me. I am so glad I found this site....

Hi There,
Go to your drugstore and get 2 things. Peroxide and Benadryl creme ( antihistimine ). Take a Q-tip or cotton ball, put the peroxide directly on it...wait till it dries then apply the Benadryl and then say ahhhhhhhhhhh relief!

The cheapest thing is garlic oil, if it works for you. It's really soothing for me. Go to the grocery store for this one. Get a bottle of virgin olive oil and a head of garlic from the produce section. Also, if you don't have a very small container with a tight-fitting lid, get one.
Peel one of the cloves of garlic (that's one piece of the whole head) and quarter it. Put it in the container and pour olive oil over it until you've got about 1/4 to 1/3 cup oil in the container. Put the lid on and let sit for about 2 hours or so. Then you can very gently daub it on your sore areas, as many times a day as you want. Hope it helps!
thanks everyone....so far peroxide only did nothing. I also tried the aloe to no avail. My next step is the peroxide/benadryl thing. Actually..I found the peroxide really irritated some of the more delicate tissues that it hit.....I'll keep all posted...I'm waitin to try the garlic olive oil cause I take it by capsule...actually I may just try the capsule contents..

I have tried DMSO which I bought with a book called Never an outbreak . The DMSO is great if I have an itch and notice anything red like the beginning of an OB I apply the cream and it goes away. Twice I have stopped OB's from coming on when I apply this cream in the predome itchy stage. One time I noticed a few small red blisters beginning to appear and I applied the cream to see they disappeared within a few hours. I have HSV1 so I am not too sure if this is much milder than the HSV2 OB's.
I hope this helps someone, and does anyone find what herbs work best for them ?

The thing that works for me is aloe with xylocaine in it. Its formulated for sunburns. It is green, so I wear a panty liner. The area that you are itching at is over the pubic bone, right? Have you ruled out tiny livestock? :)
