Each one I have tried, Seroquel, Zyprexa, and Respiradal (sp?), have made me feel like crap. Is there one that works well without a lot of side effects?
Also, does this make the singing go away? I am constantly singing songs in my head.
Thank you!

have you tried taking the seroquel only at night and starting with small doses so that your body can build up to the grogginess?

The thing I noticed most about the Seroquel is that I had a lot of nervous enery...my leg would shake up and down quickly.

I take geodon and abilify. they work great. Keep my mania under control and the singing. That is so strange that we both do the same thing. LOL!! I have quite the good singing voice anymore though. LOL!!! I stoped seeing and hearing things and i only take respirdal once in awhile. so i highly recommend those two. you might only need one of those if your lucky. then i would go for the geodon at ngiht. just a hint. Love holly

Kristi ~
I am also interested in hearing more about risperdal, in particular...
One option, is to directly open your own "thread" (topic), posing that exact inquiry.
Otherwise, your post inside of this one might easilly get overlooked.
If you'd like, I'd be glad to post the thread, but I always like to encourage others to try things for themselves !!!
Besides, I'd hate to seem like a board hog by posting too many things.

HI
Seroquel is great. But the nervous energy thing could be another problem all together, called TK, I think. I'll have to look it up and come back.
What dosage did they have you on?
RLS (restless leg syndrome) can also cause the leg thing.
Risperdal made me hallucinate, can't touch that stuff.

HI
It made me hallucinate. Others swear by it. Do a google search on it if you want to get more info on it in general terms, though

Two points...
1) Thanks Shadow, I'd like to know a bit more about Risperdal, myself (I think my psychotic mother in law might have been given that...)... I suggested a thread HERE, because there's a world of difference between what WE share with each other, and what the pharmaceutical companies flood the media with...
2) I'm amazed. I thought these boards went ballistic if another search engine got mentioned !!! Let's see if your mention of the "g" word stands up to the test of time (I had pondered mentioning that in my first reply to Kristi)...

Is the nervious energy your talking about akathesia? Akathesia is a real big pain in the ***. Ive read of people actually killing themselves because of it!!! But anyway one should not resort to that of course. There are treatments, if you take benztropine (an anti-parkinson med), in my case, it takes it almost away totally. But then i have heard of reports saying that benztropine given along with a neuroleptic increases the chances of developing tardive dyskinesia.
