Right now my hair is about a medium brown and I am wanting to go back to blonde, which my hair used to be naturally. Can anyone recommend any good tips or brands of dye that work good?

Satbast 10-24-2003, 12:28 PM If you're going to lighten it back to blonde, I fully recommend going to a stylist.. They won't be as likely to fry your hair!
jitjit 10-24-2003, 01:09 PM you can try a frosting kit to hightlight or see a stylist. Blondes are really better done by a professional. will save you alot of heartache.
Samantha0783 10-26-2003, 09:21 PM Thanks for the advice, any idea on the cost of getting it professionally done?
miseryweeps 10-27-2003, 10:33 PM Depending on length and number of colors involved, estimate around 150 for a decent job. Look in your area for any styling schools also. I got a GREAT haircut for 8 dollars from a school. You could probably get a color job done for under 50 dollars. Cost will also vary by what area you live in, but I think 150 is a standard estimate. Anyone else think differently?
Sapphire926 10-28-2003, 09:12 AM That sounds about right Misery. I also have medium brown hair and attempted to go a darker blonde last summer...needless to say, what a night mare!!! First it turned orange, then finally I got it blonde only to realize that I completely fried my ends!! Had to have almost four inches cut off my hair to get rid of all the damage. Professional is definately the way to go if you are going to a blonde shade from a darker one. If you do it yourself, with all the hassle of dying several times to get the right shade and risking ruining your hair, you might as well have spent the 100.00 - 150.00 for a professional to do it.
Good luck!! Samantha0783 10-28-2003, 10:33 AM Geez, it looks like I will have to get it done professionally. It will have to wait awhile too bcuz I don't have that much money to spend right now.
Has anyone been able to go blonde without it turning orange? I really want to do this but don't have the money right now and really afraid i'll mess up my hair. producttramp 10-28-2003, 12:04 PM You will need to bleach to get blonde. Try strand testing first if you decide to do it yourself. Go to goblonde.net for more suggestions.

Depends on the prices of your area. Expect to pay anywhere from $35 to $90 for a color, trim, and style. sosxyalmostevil 11-29-2003, 01:17 AM Right now my hair is about a medium brown and I am wanting to go back to blonde, which my hair used to be naturally.
