So are you using Bare Minerals? Do you find it has a shiny finish to it? I did just buy the kabuki....the only problem is I have been sampling many mineral makeups so they are in those little minature ziploc baggies and the brush does not fit in there, haha. Do you wash your brush? I heard it was good to wash it once a week or so with baby shampoo.

I didn't realize the samples came in baggies? What brand is it. I looked at the Cory Line yesterday. I use BE and really like it but Cory sure looks cheaper! I don't get a shine real bad. I use the Mineral veil. No I am bad I don't wash my brush :nono: Not only do I not wash it I use it with everything, fondation, blush, minerial Veil

Cory is much cheaper and it is matte. I hate the shiny finish of BE and I also tried Jane Iredale which was really expensive and very shiny. The shine just seems to really accentuate the flaws on my face. Cory is great so far and you are correct about the kabuki. I just tried it today for the first time and it makes a world of difference in how my face looks after application of Cory Cosmetics. Now, question for you, do you agree that all mineral makeups treat your face in the same way? I notice that BE advertises as the PUREST mineral makeup......do you think it really is? Do you think Cory is not as good of quality? Have you ever tried Aromaleigh, Geografx, Botany 101 or any other mineral makeups?

Funny you should ask that! I was wondering the same thing as far as being good for the skin. I do know I have not had one pimple since I started using BE and I use to break out every month! I was on the Cory website and the only way I could find to order it was online or through order forms. I could not find a number to call?
Something I do that may be helping the "shine" is I use Collagen C5 serum instead of a lotion under my BE?
I watched those infomercials for years before I broke down and got this stuff off QVC. It's been the only mineral make up I have tried. I thought to getting some cory samples because it seems more cost effective; however, the BE last a long, long time?

I believe the Cory would last a long time as well. It is the same concept with the little containers of loose powder. I wish I did know if BE was better or was the best mineral makeup for your skin. I keep thinking of the infomercial where they say, "its so pure you can sleep in it." Thats what keeps running through my mind. I dont know how to compare the two besides ingredient lists. What is collagen C5 serum and where did you get it? How much was it?
What do you all use from BE? The foundation, veil, and warmth? I also have a hard time matching colors from off of the computer.

 You can get that serum at Walgreens. It's in a blue bottle with a dropper. I use it once a day and really like it. It isn't oily or greasy. Oh boy, I have a lot of
BE. I have two shades of light, warmth, veil, warm radience, well rested eye shadow, mascarra and my favorite liquid loofah! One tip is they say it takes about ten minutes to set. I do the foundation , usually mixing light and fairly light, then I do warmth OR warm radience and then apply mineral veil. I have so much because I order the special values on QVC and you get kits that come with tons of stuff!

So you dont experience a shiny finish with the BE? I have to order some more mineral makeup today because I am so low. I am just trying to make it for the next few days now until I decide which brand to order.

It's called Collagen <C5 Serum> I have also seen it at Target? I always get mine at Walgreens, maybe you could ask at the cosmetic counter? Let me know how the Armolaeigh works, you're going to be a expert on Mineral Make Up soon :p

HAHA, quite far from the expert! I also ordered some Alpha samples of mineral foundations. I dont know which ones to go with. The worst part is I do NOT want to break out. Thats my main fear so I want the best one out there. I also should get a very simple but good skin cleaning routine. I just cant seem to find what works good to keep my skin clear. My chin is out of control right now. Ill check Target as well tomorrow for that collagen. What is it exactly?

It says deep wrinkel serum? I would imagine the Vit. C might be good for Acne prone skin? I have read lots of good things about Pro Active.

I have tried it all for acne including two courses of accutane. I do not know what else to do to cure this problem. Its mainly chin and jawline acne and it NEVER goes away.

Sorry you have such a time with acne. I did when I was younger too. All I can tell you is not one zit since the start of BE which is fabulous. Every Month I would get the real sore under the skin pimples that hurt!! I use their entire line which includes the gycolic cleanser. I also use Neutrogena's new chemical peel. Good Luck, let me know which one works best for you and do tell..... how did you get all the samples?

You use which line of products? BE? Glycolic Cleanser? I get the samples off all the websites of each product. I got samples of Aromaleigh, Cory, and Alpha Skin Care. I cant remember if it was you saying you wish you could Alpha Skin Care but I wish I knew why that person wishes they could use it but apparently cant. Anyway samples on Cory are .35 cents and samples on the other two websites were 2.00 each. Hopefully I can have some color matches this way. Will let you know which I like best soon! I cant wait for the samples. Tell me about the skin care line you use though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I found on the Cory web site was a print off order form and they were a buck each?
BE is Bare Essentuals, They have a huge line of skin care.
I use md formulations facial cleanser and the liquid loofah, this stuff is to die for. I can't tell you what it would be like for acne prone skin though.
That wasn't me with the Alpha Skin Care but I have read it is good as well as Neutrogena products.
What we go through for good looking skin :)

My favorite foundation brush is the baby kabuki I got from Aromaleigh.
Not all MMU's are equal - and unfortunately, without trying them, you won't know which ones will work best for you.
Some lines contain bismuth oxychloride, which is a known irritant. It really causes problems for some women, but others use it without any problems at all. Lines that use bismuth include Youngblood, BE/BM, Mineral Secrets, Jane Iredale. I didn't have itching with it, but I don't like the "shiny" look.
Another ingredient that causes problems for some women is cornstarch. This is found in BE's Mineral Veil. It can cause breakouts. Some women use it without any problems at all.
I have a problem with MMU that has a high concentration of titanium dioxide. Cory is virtually all titanium dioxide - Alpha Skin Care also caused problems for me. They both provide great coverage, but they clogged my pores (made bumps under the skin) & made my skin dry & flaky. But some women love both lines & never have problems.
I also used Evan's Garden & Monave - couldn't get a good color match & found them to be a little on the heavy side - they also tended to separate after a few hours.
The best lines for me are Aromaleigh, Botany 101, & Geografx. I get a matte finish, good color match, great coverage, no separation, & best of all - no breakouts or flaky skin.

I just posted to you Blue Eyed Belle in the post titled "Mineral Makeup Problems." Do you say I stick with those three you mentioned that you use? I have tried Jane Iredale, way to shiny....I agree with you on that. I enjoy Cory right now but I am broken out more than I ever have in a long time. Aromaleigh and Alpha are on the way and Im thinking of not even trying Alpha and just sticking with Aromaleigh??????????????

It's difficult to say, shannamarie36 - everyone is different. But my guess is that if you're having problems with Cory, you might also have problems with ASC. I've found that if I only use those lines once or twice a week (trying to use up the samples I have), I don't notice a problem - but if I use them more frequently, it's a disaster.

Is the baby kabuki from Aromaleigh basically the same thing as the kabuki from BE?
Blue-eyedBelle

It's much smaller & softer. Plus it has a long handle. I love it. I have a regular kabuki & I hardly ever use it since getting the baby kabuki.
