Hi,

How old is your friend.....and is this the first time that someone in his family has died?

There are many books on death and dying. Maybe he could visit the library and take out a few that will help him cope with his fears, as well to help him recognise the loss his parent will be feeling.

Is he totally dependent on his family?

Thanks,
quincy

hey quincy
can you suggest any books for him to look at??

yeah he still lives at home
he gets depression quite bad

he isn't totally dependant on his parents, as he works, but i feel that if something happens to them he won't take it too well, and i am worried that he will end up taking his own life if that happened

Another perspective is this........Let him ponder on a few things......before you came into this world you were in a womb right??? Do you remember that? Then how do you know there isn't something else out there when your gone? How do you not know that this is only a step like that was? Dying isn't leaving......it's only your soul leaving something it's lived in for some years. It's only a capsule for a short time, your soul moves on. Our "body's" are only here for a short time but our souls and memories go on and on. He may not believe in "GOD" or anyone else but he has to believe in energy. You can't just leave the earth and all your heat and energy just vanish. It just doesn't happen. Have someone touch his arm and ask him how long it takes to NOT feel their touch anymore. He'll be able to feel it for a long long time. IT's energy. I can't explain it any other way without already sounding crazy but it's there! If he opens his mind he will ALWAYS feel the one's he's lost, around him, in his thoughts. You have to be open minded and he will feel them near. Sounds so crazy but I believe in angels and spirits. I've seen them, they are here...you just have to believe.
