I am a 31 year old male and have always had what I would consider to be mildly irregular bowel movements (although now I understand that there really is no definition of "regular"). When I sit (other places than the on the toilet) for too long I occasionally get extremely painfull cramps.

The past few days have been a little different. I have been blocked up for some reason and now I am feeling very bloated and starting to get soreness in my chest and back and stomach muscles. I bought Fiber Choice and have been taking it for a few days but I want to try something more aggressive. What is commercially available which would help me to really flush out the pipes.

Thanks for your help. It is great to know that I have a place to go for information without running to the doctor everytime I have a simple question.

Go to the drug store and try either a bottle of mag citrate( it is in the laxative aisle) or ask for a fleets prep kit #1. The fleets prep kit will definetly clean out the pipes.

Hope all is well,
Michelle

After taking some type laxative that cleans you out---you may want to try a fiber water soluble supplement daily to get and keep you regular. A natural bowel regulator is Metamucil that has an active ingredient - - psyllium husk. It's both safe and a will make your BMs gentle so you won't be up and down.

Your Gastrointestinal system does not function well without at least 20 to 35 grams of fiber daily. Most of us with todays diet just don't get that amount daily. Colon cancer is the third cause of cancer deaths as well as gastro problems are becoming an epidemic ----guess why???

Lack of FIBER in our diets. Not only do people know about foods as well as drinks(intolerances) that causes chronic diarrhea and some constipation but they want a drug to fix their bad eating and drink habits.

Your Gastro system is very forgiving when you're young. But, as you age everything changes. I suggest you do everything NOW you can to make yourself healthy. You will not regret it!!!
