I left a post earlier about whether it was possible to have a wisdom tooth extracted under a local anaesthetic but now I have a separate question.
I'm wondering if somebody can tell me what the symptoms are of wisdom tooth trouble? I have had a look through the board and can't find anything that seems to be identical to my situation. I have pain in the right, lower back of my mouth. It feels to be below the gum line and almost in the jaw itself. I know that I have a horizontally impacted wisdom tooth down there that my dentist says I will probably never get to see, so it has not erupted at all and probably never will. But in addition to this, I also seem to have a mild earache and my right jaw feels quite tight. I also noticed that if I touch the area around the jaw between the jaw and the ear/neck it is very tender. I have tried taking painkillers but they don't seem to be making any difference.
I had a little bit of massage work done on the top of the neck and jaw to help with fibromyalgia pain about a week ago which may be exacerbating symptoms (I'm not really sure).
I'm so scared it might be wisdom tooth trouble though, I really hope not as I don't think I could stand something else to deal with.
Any advice would be wholeheartedly appreciated.
