Hi all, I'm Kez, I'm 24 and I was diagnosed with Crohn's-colitis last year. Since last year when I was diagnosed, I've been on a whole range of medications including steroids, immunosuppressive and anti-symptomatic drugs. Until I had surgery this year, I was on 35 tablets a day.

In April, I had most of my colon and a foot of my small intestine removed. I have a temporary ileostomy, and am hoping to have it reversed.

I'd love to chat to anyone who has Crohn's or colitis, and if you have any questions, please feel free to fire away!

Hey chronzone
I was diagnosed with colitis 10 years ago, but think I've had it for much longer. So far I have avoided surgery. I was on steroids off and on, mostly on for 5 years. The side effects were awful. I try not to take them now. Once in a great while I have to, but when things get really bad I try to stop eating for a while. I'm on Asacol daily. I had my galbladder out last year and my bowel pain seems to worse since then. So bad it wake me up at night.I don't find may people that have colitis or understand what its like. I check this board once in a while. Feel free to post back. I'll be looking for you.
Peace

Hi Guys, i am currently being tested for colitis, celiac disease and b12 deficiency but my doc feels i more than likely have cealiac but the first doc i saw reckons its colitis??? I am obviously very worried but i want to know NOW, TODAY and not have to wait for test after test to be done, the thing i have noticed on most of the posts is that near on everyone with these bowel problems have all lost weight or are under weight, well i am a lumpington.... a am almost 14 stone so how can the doc think it is one of these diseases??? I do have an under active thyroid so that does not help my weight.
Also i keep on testing positive for a bug in my belly that causes ulcers(can't remember the name of it). Thanks you for any advice i am very grateful as i am so fed up>

Hi all. I was diagnosed with crohn's disease just about 2 years ago. I had been told for years I had IBS. I am on asacol and supposed to be on imuran but I stopped that because it scares me too much. I'll probably take flak for that when I see my new GI (which isn't until April) but will worry about that then. I don't find I feel any worse for the wear after stopping it. Good to see others with the same condition (not that I would wish this on anyone).

 Hi Kez,
I'm 39 yers old and was diagnosed with Crohn's 4 years ago. I have had many operations and even had a ostomy for 9 months. I take many medications including steroids and still not doing well. The only medication that helped me was one called Remicade but I no longer can have it my heart can't handle it and I end up in the ER everytime they try to give it thru IV. I was just taken out of work last month since I no longer can work. I average running to the bathroom any where from 20 to 30 times a day. I hope they get your's under control soon and please feel free to post with any question or just to chat. Sandy
