Let It Bleed
11-02-2004, 02:21 AM
Its scary. Ever since contracting HSV-2 I've had a lot more than blisters. I started out getting a severe case of herpes induced viral-meningititis with my intial outbreak which landed me in the hospital for over a week. Now I'm having unyielding muscle twitching all over my body, but especially the legs. And shooting pains, everywhere. Its there, always, one or the other. My muscles are so sore, and have been since I contracted a year ago. It hurts to walk. When I wake up, my feet hurt so bad to put weight on them, my knees hurt, my back, and EVERY MUSCLE IS TWITCHING. It never stops. And my vision is blurry. I tried to watch the lunar eclipse the other night and I couldn't make much out because the moon was blurred all over the sky. What is this virus doing to us? What should I do? What are you doing?

You should see a neurologist. I've heard other people report muscle twitches ever since contracting herpes...its hard to believe what this virus can do. Make sure you let the neurologist know that the herpes caused the muscle twitching...cause I have a feeling they may not believe it.

I don't have the twitching, but I do have a constant burning in my legs and groin area....it hasn't gone away in over a year. Somehow the Herpes has screwed up our nerves =(.

Good luck.

Check out another board on this site called, I think, "Restless Legs Syndrome." Maybe the herpes ob brought this on. I don't know much about it, but the symptoms sound like yours.
