I am in the UK and trying to get benefits is a nightmare. As you all know when you live with pain 24/7 you learn not to show it so I went for an assessment and acted like myself, not showing the pain. It went against me and they said I was able to work, which I can't, I should have moaned, groaned and acted.
At the assessment they felt that I was able to sit comfortably for more than 2 hours without having to move from the chair because the degree of discomfort made it difficult to continue sitting also that I could lift, carry and reach for objects and walk 800 metres without stopping or severe discomfort. I need to use a walking stick as walking hurts!!
I have severe FM, degenerating discs, nerve damage to the thoraccic area and neck due to a car crash and a damaged cocciqs. I know none of you know me so you can't say I can't do the above but please please reply if you suffer doing the above because of FM. I can print the replies and show I am not alone as evidence for an appeal.
Thank you for replies.
