hi, everyone,
I have just started taking Metamucil daily after struggling with severe constipation for a couple years. The doctor cannot find a medical problem and recommended this. Anyway, my main question is this-I am taking a rounded teaspoon three times a day. The easiest time for me to do this is approximately 9 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm. Will this be okay? Also, I have been taking it for about a week and am seeing a little result, how long should it take for me to become regular? Thanks for the advice.

Joey,

You should spread the time out more. You are basically taking the 3 doses in 8 hours. I take 2 doses ---1 at 8 am and the other about 9 pm. I take the sugar free type.

Harry,
Thanks for the advice. I am also taking the sugar free kind, in fact it's not Metamucil, it's Wal-mart's sugar free kind. Do you think it is just as good?

Joey,
I guess I've used every brand on the market and It's just as good ---I also take Equate from Wal Mart---it is a little courser than Metamucil --I like better than the finer powder and it's cheaper. It's psyllium husk ---the same stuff. Stick with it ----it works!!!

If you ever get diarrhea ---continue taking it--- it is really a bowel regulator and it works just as well for diarrhea. There are not many substances that work for both C and D ----and safe to take daily. Most people don't realize in some areas of the world it's a food sorta like the bran from wheat---whole wheat.

God Bless---Harry
