my daughter now goes to college, n she is slightly off the rails and is always lookin for attention!! ive been informed that she plays up badly for one of her teachers, no others jus that one!!shes always late or doesnt turn up so shel get into trouble, and she tells her things that you wouldnt normally tell an outsider of your family!! she is always acting as if she is stupid both with her friends and family, and acts very oddly around people as if she is weird!! this happened whilst she was at skool as well she get in trouble not because its the kind of person she is, jus because she could!! she is constantly looking for attention!! one of my friends suggested ADD but im not sure!!she has learning mentors and everything and im positive that she doesnt need them!! she was using the drug poppers for a length of time and i dont know if this would have anything to do with it??!! could some1 please tell me the first signs of ADD

I doubt that you're going to like my opinion but, if I were her mother, I'd be awfully worried that she is using street drugs. It certainly sounds that way.

What you describe doesn't sound like ADD alone. I will post a website where you can read more about the symptoms, but what you need to know first is that in order for it to be ADD, the symptoms must have always been there. If they are of recent onset, then by definition, it cannot be ADD.

Here's the website that I mentioned:

Good luck!

Doesn't sound like she has ADD, but there is definately something going on with her. So I can understand your concern. Have you confronted her about this weird behavior, that might be the best first step.
