It's been about a year since I got diagnosed with herpes and I had accepted it, finally. I thought I'd never have sex with anyone again. I remember crying and shaking in my mother's bed, terrified and in a daze. Everything in my life had changed. I came to these boards for comfort every night to read everyones stories, and still do.
But you know what? After that culture about a year ago, I've had three blood tests all comming out neg. my last one being about a week ago. Then I did more research and started reading about the Shingles which is similar to the chicken pox caused brought out by stress and a weakend imune system. Come to find out, symptoms of the shingles may include: fever, chills, a general feeling of malaise, headache, lymph node swelling, vision and taste abnormalities, hearing loss, joint pain and also GENITAL LESIONS! I also remebered that about four years ago, my grandma had the shingles really badd and she had them on her vagina and took like three months to heal. Did you know that the medical name for shingles is Herpes Zoster! So my theory is that I had Herpes Zoster but not Simplex. I just cant believe it! I have been truly lucky and will definitely be a nun now.
