I need to pick something up that will help me exfoliate, but gently. I don't want something that will break me out unless it will clear it up, if you can please list the type of skin you have (oily , combo etc) also list the texture of your skin (acne, normal, cystic) and how bad the acne is if you do have it.

Neutregena advanced facial peel is great. It makes my skin look so much clearer and softer. Im 47 with very dry skin. I just use this at night as a precaution in case it makes me slightly pink but it never has.I used it on my 20 yr old daughter once and it made her face look a lot smoother. She has comination skin with rosacea.I wanted to try it on her again to see if we would see continued improvement but I cant get her to stay in one place long enough.Darn kid!! Be sure to wear a sunscreen after u try products like these. They do make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

I have been using ANEW 2-step facial peel from AVON andlove it. I have ruddy patches which have improved after a week and overall appearance has improved! I'm 38 have some spider viens and the red patches and a few breakouts now and then. Worth the $32 I spent. You use it every ohter day and there are 30 pads.

I have slightly oily, slightly sensitive, acne-prone skin. I used to almost always have a couple of breakouts on my face - and monthly, I would get cystic acne on my chin & jawline.
I swear, the thing that has helped the most is using Exfol Serum (salicylic acid 2%) daily in the am & then Paula's Choice 2% BHA solution in the pm.
But as far as microdermabrasion - it's been great for the texture of my skin, but I don't think it's responsible for getting rid of my breakouts. I use Aromaleigh's microdermabrasion cream with a Dermanew machine - but you can also apply the cream with your fingers.
I also use a glycolic acid peel once a week - but please use great caution if you attempt this on your own. You need to follow the instructions implicitly. I do think that this has helped to keep my pores clear - which contributes to decreased breakouts.

if you want something cheaper, a popular favorite is the Apricot scrub that can be found at most stores that carry beauty products. They have one for normal skin, sensitive and oily (medicated). I have very oily skin that can break out and I use the medicated one. I have not moved on to microdermabrasion kits yet just b/c of the cost. Good luck
