I went to the doctor about a month ago, after seeing bright red blood on the tissue and streaking the stool. He took a sigmoidoscopy, which found only some moderate hemmerhoids.
Yet, even after using hemmerhoids medicine, the conditions have not improved in the last month. I still notice the bright red blood from time to time, and am still constipated.
Should I be concerned? I don't want to look like a hypochondriac.

Hey Daved. I've found that the suppositories/creams do not help. I've battled with these things for years. I am now taking fiber pills and stool softner pills daily and this is helping with the hard stools which are my problem. Good luck..

You should not allow yourself to get constipated!! You need to intake enough fiber in your diet so your intestines function properly.
A person need 25 to 35 grams of fiber daily and it needs to be balance between soluble and insoluble fiber for normal BMs.
I have found that I need at least 7 mgram of a water soluble fiber like Metamucil (psyllium) for me to be regular w/o straining. Also, you need to drink at least 6 glasses of water daily.
As you may know constipation is the biggest cause of hemorrhoids!!
