I am short sighted (-2 i think). Is it possible that if i remove my glasses for long periods of time, e.g an hour in a go, that it will 'improve' my eyesight. To phrase it differently, can not wearing glasses make eyesight worse?

Just curious,

Cheers

Tabernackle,

I'm certainly not a doctor, but very sensitive to my vision (much to my doctor's chagrin), so I have asked this question myself. Due to vanity sake, I would often go without my glasses unless necessary (meetings, tv watching, concerts) as my eyesight isn't very bad (-0.5 in one eye; -1.5 in the other, I think). Anyway, I told my doctor about this expecting her to admonish me, and she actually said it was good! She said it should keep presbyopia (the '40' disease where your near vision goes to crap as we age) at bay longer. Not that it will help with seeing far distances, but any advantage is good, right?

anyway, have you ever tried the programs advertised to help improve your vision without glasses/contacts/surgery? I am curious to try these, but as I think I see all this other visual phenomona, I don't know if it's a good idea for me. But, if I was *healthy* with just accommodation problems, I'd give it a shot.

Good luck,
Stella

Thanks for the reply! I think i may try some of those 'exercises', what harm can they do...

They won't cause any harm, but if you're going to do them, you have to stick with it and be persistent. That's the hard part.
