I recently had my second molar extracted and am now experiencing terrible ear pain on the side where the extraction occurred. The surgeon has now informed me that a "nerve is dying" and I must have a root canal. He also said this is "fairly common." Is this true? What causes a "nerve to die"?
Thank you.
Thank you.

whats it a upper or lower molar? i had mines upper second molar out doctor said its good for me since the wisdom tooth was coming thru.
can you function well with out that molar out?
i heard about what you saying . the nerve needs to die or else its going to bother you because if i'm correct, the tooth is no longer there.
