there are so many product lines out there, it's soo hard to know where to start...I thought if someone has had success with particular line I will start there. I came across M.D Forte, Serious Skin, Ecco Bella, Olay, Neutrogena, Earth Science, Dove, aaagggghhhhh! what to do! If you could tell what brand(s) you use along with what they have given you results with and how often you use them, It would be of great help.

Decleor Aromassence Night Balm is one of the few things that has worked to promote radiant, healthy skin tone. After a week or so of using it, my skin just looked happier.

I dont use mouisturiers generally, but the one I did LOVE was " Resolution De-contraxol" by Lancome. Amazing stuff, and did not cause any breakouts.

For Acne, Clearisil 3-day treatment tube thingy, Origins "Chunk of Clay" and Avon 2 step peel.

For cleansing, "chunk of clay" is unbeatable, and Darphin makes some really good products as well.

Best brands in general in my opinion?

Darphin
Decleor
Origins
Aveda
Lancome

I'm not a big believer in using an entire line of products just because you like one or two of them. I mix & match, LOL!

My favorite cleansers: Aromaleigh Lavender Mandarin cleanser & Geografx Gentle Blue cleanser (once daily)

BHA products: Paula's Choice 2% BHA solution & Skin Biology's Exfol serum (I use both daily)

AHA product: Makeup Artist's Choice 30% glycolic acid peel (once a week for 6 weeks, skip 2 weeks, then repeat)

General exfoliation: Aromaleigh's microdermabrasion cream applied with the Dermanew machine (1-2 times/week)

Moisturizer: I use a mix of jojoba oil, hazelnut oil, evening primrose oil, borage seed oil, carrot seed oil, & a few drops of essential oils (twice daily)

Other products:
DMAE/Vitamin C serum (once daily)
Skin Biology's Copper Peptide serum (once daily)
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunblock (daily)
Aromaleigh Free Radical Quenching Serum (to eye area, in the evening)
Renova (every other day)

I have slightly oily, slightly sensitive, acne-prone skin - and I rarely get a breakout with this routine. I am also told frequently that I don't look my age.

I was just wondering if the decleor night balm or the lancome were greasy feeling, because I have slightly oily skin and don't like when moisturizers feel oily.

Oh yeh, where do i get this "chuk of clay?" for cleansing?

Have any of you taken accutane? If so, were any of these products good for that period as well, as I am thinking of going on it soon.

Thanks!

Did you have any slightly indented scars, or hyperpigmentation did this help the texture of your skin?

Do you buy this ready made, or do you mix them yourself?

Other products:
DMAE/Vitamin C serum (once daily) Is this serum oily? Can you get it at the health food store?Skin Biology's Copper Peptide serum (once daily)
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunblock (daily)

The microdermabrasion has helped smooth the texture of my skin - it's difficult to say whether or not it has helped hyperpigmentation (I have a couple of sun-damaged spots) or slightly indented scars (again, I have a couple), because I use other products also designed to help with these things. But I have seen an improvement.

The DMAE serum is not oily at all. It's a very lightweight, nongreasy formula that absorbs quickly.

I was on Accutane, which completely eradicated spots. It still left the pesky red marks though, but avon 2-step and deceor are working on that,.

The Lancome product was SLIGHTLY slick, but not enough to make your skin feel oily or anything. And within half an hour or so, not a trace.

The Decleor one is completely undetactable. I put a tiny amount (the decleor lady explained this to me), in my hands and massage it in before going to bed. not oily at all, and the smell is sooooo good.

The chunk of clay you can buy at any Origins counter, or i'm sure online somwhere? This DOES dry your skin, and makes it very matte. If you have oily skin, its perfect. Duno if it would work well with accutane though.

Darphins Desincrustante lotion worked well with accutane, as this works to balance out skin acidity levels or something, and "calm" down any irritant spots. I like this product, but it doesnt smell so wonderful.

any more questions, im more than happy to answer

My favourite skin care products are Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar and Olay Total Effects moisturizer w/SPF 15. I am working very hard right now to keep my routine simple! I used to use a huge array of cleansers, moisturizers, makeup removers, exfoliaters...etc. I'm a firm believer now that less is more. On top of everything, I just started Accutane recently and am still sticking to these two essential products and they're working just as great as always, which is saying something considering the side effects of Accutane. The Dove bar takes off every last bit of makeup... My skin has never felt so clean and soft! I would really recommend the Dove especially for anyone.

I am quite simple in my routine (reflections of a tight budget), but I usually fare well with washing my face at morning and night Dove soap, using very warm water (to open the pores). I like to use St. Ives Apricot Facial Scrub at night after the soap, splash cold water on my face to close the pores, then St. Ives facial moisturizer after that. I also apply this in the morning.

In the morning, after the moisturizer is mostly dry, I apply SPF 45 sunblock, usually for baby skin (as my earlier post I like to keep my skin pale, so you may not want to do that).

Sometimes I treat myself to clay masks (hey, no matter what you do, you are going to have skin problems, so I use that reason as an excuse for pampering myself :) )

Good luck with finding the routine that suits you! :bouncing:

Hello all; [ removed - please read the posting rules ]

Genetics is a big part of it all. So hopefully you were blessed with good skin genes! Seriously though~it depends on how much money you want to spend. There are good products at all prices. You can do really great with something like Aveeno or, Nuetrogena right from the drug store. Just make sure to drink lots of water, wash your face before bedtime, and use a moisturizer with an spf of 15 or higher. You can spend lots of money on the gimmics out there but, all you really need is a good cleanser, eye cream, lip moisturizer, and the moisterizer w/ spf. Good Luck!!

Avon avon avon!!! I love my avon. they have a new thing called clinical it makes your face feel wonderful and it takes away lines and wrinkles. My mom started using it first, and she had lines around her mouth from stress and since using that, they have decreased. it plumps the skin back up like having botox with out the needles. go on avon.com or something like that and look at all the new clinical avon products.

I have tried a lot of different skin care products. But I love Liz Earle (try lizearle.com). Their clean and polish hot cloth cleanser is brilliant, for every skin type!

For me so far they are Silkia camellia oil and Epidermx microdermabrasion cream. They've made my skin healthier, brighter and glowy. My fine lines and acne scar indents are going away too.

Tutti Dolci from Bath and Body Works

the Souffe (might have spelled wrong) is the best for in the shower. Its salty so definitely exfoliates, and afterwords follow it with the lotion. Its amazing..I can't stop touching my soft skin!

I started using Proactiv a month ago and I love it. My skin is so clear. Before that I used Origins Out of Trouble mask, Origins Swept Clean and Clinique Acne Solutions Foam. They were OK, but didn't work nearly as well as Proactiv. I did like the Origins mask really well. I want to try the Aromaleigh products too. Everyone I know that has used them says they are great.
