I have had chronic diarehha for 6 or 7 yrs.now. I think it started right before I had my gallbladder out and since the surgery, I've always had problems. Two yrs. ago, I was pregnant with my 4th child, and when I am pregnant the diarehha is severe, for the first time I had a lot of blood in my stool. It freaked me out because it was a lot. I don't think my ob thought it was a big deal. Since then, I have had it happen at least 8 times, most recently was about 1mo. ago. Within the last 3mos. I have awoken in the middle of the night with terrible nausea,(once I threw up), sometimes heartburn, and heart palpatations. At first I thought I had the flu, but when it happened a couple more times I ruled that out. Does anyone know what this could be? Does this happen with Irritable Bowel? I can not go to a doctor, I have no insurance or money.

IBS has symptom more with the lower bowels and nausea is not one of them.

It sounds more like a virus or GERD that affect the upper Gastro system except for the blood it could be hemorrhoids or a bleeding divericular.

You could try taking a water soluble fiber supplement daily like Eguate from Wal Mart. It will make you regular w/o straining when having a BM....
