I got lost in the Valley yesterday I lived out there all my life I could not even find the town house I used to live in. It was very furstrating for me because I knew the city but I didnt know where I was. I had to stop and ask someone for directions and I was right around the corner from the place.
I would like to know if anyone else is experincing memory problems and what are you doing to help with memory loss if anything. I'm starting to forget how to read and do math. I would like to know if there is something (pills) you are taking to help with memory.

That sounds pretty scary, sorry:( I've had it happen to me, so don't feel alone! I "woke" out of a seizure and was driving to a little town I didn't know once...super spooky. Since then I've quit driving, I can seizure all I want in the passenger seat :jester:
I have memory loss after a period of seizures..I think it just goes with the terroritory. I forgot how to do all but the basic math, and I still need a calculator. To improve your memory you could exersize your brain. Try word searches, crossword puzzles. I do those, plus whenever my memory is too weird I start speaking French..learning a second language improved my memory really well. Learning a third is a different question:)
There are vitamins I take, but if you are taking epilepsy pills I'd ask your doctor. I take potassium, magnesium, b6, fish oil(for depression but also has alot of helpful vitamin E), vitamin b12 too.

Hope this helps!

I have had a similare experience, but right now it's remembering everyday little things, like dates, phone #'s, etc...sometimes it gets pretty bad, but then at other times I don't have any problems at all. I know that it's very frustrating, though.

That does sound like a scary experience and all too familuar.
I keep a little book with me at all times.
I put the date, day year at the top of every page.
Family names numbers.
What I am doing day to day.
Sometimes I write...right away...what I have said to my children...they tell me I repeat all the time...lol
To be honest without this little book I would not remember yesterday.
But I can read, it takes me longer but I can do it.
Math skills .....HA
I hope you find something that works for you
My little book helps me a lot.

Yolo,
I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your memory. My son has Petit Mal E (absence seizures) and his short term memory seems to take a hit. I guess because his attention is interrupted by the seizures. Hang in there.

I know what you mean. I have so much trouble remembering things. I think I would forget my head if it wasn't attached. I get lost very easily. I live in the same town I grew up in. I get lost in what I say also. I have trouble following what someone else is talking about too, especially when they ask a question. I have trouble remembering names, I will sometimes look at one of my children, I only have 2, and can't for the life of me remember their name. The doctor says it is from seizures, but come on, let's be realistic! I have been seizure free for over 13 months! As far as the math skills, they have gone down! I took a lot of math in college, and truly enjoyed it, I love doing logic problems, now I struggle. Sometimes it gets so frustrating but then I also have to remember what it was like when I was having seizures. So, hang in there, you are obviously not alone!!!
