Hi,
This may be a silly question but it keeps popping into my head so thought I'd see what you all have to say about it. When I was in junior high...way too long ago  ...during those Sex Education classes our teacher told us a friend of hers can actually "feel" her eggs being released...is that possible? Have any of you heard that, or felt that before? And if it is true, what does it feel like? Also, I know right before ovulation I have heard that the cervix lowers and opens...has anyone felt symptoms of that, I still haven't figured out my cervical position from anything else but yesturday I had pinching sensations on my cervix and wonder if that was my cervix moving.
Thanks for reading and replying, everyone is so great on here, I can always count on finding out answers to my questions.
Have a great weekend!

Hi!
I know whenever I am ovulating I have a dull ache on my lower right side. When I went on the pill I never felt this...as soon as I went off the pill I felt it again. My sister has said the same thing. We assume that its the ovulation that we are feeling!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate hearing from everyone. there was one day I had occasional cramping that could have been my ovaries, I think it was the day before I felt a pinching sensation on my cervix. Anyone have a clue what the cervix pinching feeling could mean? I'm now just about done CD13 going on 14.(Nikki we are still neck to neck in our cycles) DH and I BD-ed lastnight...technically this morning because it was about 1:30AM. He is playing poker with his hockey buddies tonight, so hopefully tomorrow morning we can sneak a quickie in before Kierra wakes up. ;) Well, thanks again, hope everyone is having a good weekend! Talk to you soon.

I've felt it. Only a couple of times, though. I thought it was only possible after you've had a child, but I never have. Since I started depo shots I don't feel anything.

I have another question, when you all feel these cramping sensations when the egg releases, how long does it last, I had a pain on my right side just below and about 4fingers over from my belly button, it was a pinchy, pulling feeling and lasted about 10 minutes or so. And where abouts is the cramping.

Yes, I feel it when I am ovulating. Ovualtion pains are reffered to as "mittlesmirtz" and are pretty common. I have had them for years. I always know what side I am ovulating on because I get a bloated pressure and twinges of pushing/pulling/pinching. My dr. suspected that I had endometriosis - because this was just part of my pain. Anyway, right before I went into the operating room I told him, "by the way, I ovulated on my left side yesterday". He laughed about that to me later because he said "You were right!". Lets just say he listens to "everything" I have to say now! HA! :p
Another thing, we ovulate from follicles that are little sacs that hold the egg until it bursts. I found out that these sacs can close back up and actually become little cysts that usually disappear within a couple of months. It is VERY COMMON - but they can actually make you have little pains too. So, something to think about if a pain lingers for a few days. Good luck to you!!!

Hmm, pretty neat. Thanks for all that info. The pain has gone away, so I guess unless I am already pregnant, I will have to watch and see if I get the same type of pains around the same time next month, then I'll know. Thanks again!

hello
just to let you know! 3 days after my period I can feel the egg release! When its 2 weeks before my period I can feel the egg going down the tubes! It feels like pushing a bowling ball through a straw! It feels like that side feels like its 10kgs! Its a weird sensation but you get used to it after a while! I must be one of those uber sensitive types! I hope this helps!
