I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with bipolar and pregnancy. Let me know how you felt. What medications you were able to take. Any advice you can offer would be great.

Thanks

I am biplar and 6 months pregnant. I've been having some problems and I'm sure the dont just come from being bipolar, but from other issues past and present in my life. Everyone is different, however, so dont just take what I'm saying and think thats how ALL bipolars are when pregnant.

I ended up in the Emergency room lastnight because of SEVERE moodswings, suicidal thoughts, and violence. (they didnt admit me oddly enough) It is hard enough on a "normal person" being pregnant but more difficult on a bipolar...it is like a double whammy, atleast thats what the doctor told me.

I was on several different types of meds over the years and they have put me on just xanax 3 times a day to try and mellow me out. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesnt.

There is so much more, but like I said, everything and everyone in every situation is different. I'm sure there are bipolar women out there that never had a moments problem during their pregnancy. (gee that MUST be nice......) :dizzy:
