Hi. I am new here this is first post. About a week ago my neck was very swollen and hurt. I thought I pulled a mussel but now IO think it was my lymphoid. Also I got a blister and a scab that formed right next to my lip. This has never happened befor as I recall. Needless to say having this right there is extremely embarrassing. I guess it must be herpes but I hope not. If this is will I have it forever again and again for the rest of my life? Woe is me!

Herpes isn't curable, so if you have it...you're stuck with it for life. There are some treatments to reduce outbreaks though. Talk to your doctor.

I know what you're going through. I suffer from constant cold sores frequently. I was in shock the first time and still get embarrased in public when I have one.

There are a lot of home remedies mentioned here on the message board that may help you. The best one for me has been valtrex. It stops the blister from forming at all if you catch it right at the onset.

I heard Denavir ointment is also good. It's only available by prescription though.

When you have one just becareful not to kiss anyone or share drinking glasses etc.

take care and hang in there.

Zorba, how often do you get fever blisters? I've had them about 5 times in the last 4 or 5 months.
