I have Crohn's disease and sometimes when I go to the toilet, my 'poop' smells really strange, not the usual bad. Does anyone else have wierd smells too? (i dont mean a really bad smell either, just really odd) :eek:

Ummmmm........depends what sorta smell. If it smells like blood or somth than maybe u should call a doctor. My poop somtimes smells like something is rotting - really gross!

I have Crohn's too. I have had it for almost 20 years now. I'm only 34. My poops smell weird. It usually depends on what I eat. Don't worry. How long have you been diagnosed with it? How old are you? What are your symptoms like on a day to day basis?

Sorry for all the questions, it's just hard to find people to share this disease with.

Usually with crohns there are also absorption issues which can cause odd smells in our bowels.

I'm 19, I have been told for 2 years it was IBS, but the other week I saw my specialist and he told me it was Crohn's. Right now my symptoms are pretty bad, blood in my stools, constant tiredness and I always feel sick after or am after my evening meal. I think the meds I take make me feel sick too

What type of meds are you on Chelle? Are you taking calcium with vitamin D? If not I recommend you do. Because of absorption issues and steroids (if you've been on them) we are at risk of osteopenia and/or osteoporosis. I was just told I have both. Unfortunately when first diagnosed I was on massive doses of steroids and wasn't told this. I was told I had IBS for about 25-30 years before finally being diagnosed with crohns. Did you have a colonoscopy to get the crohns diagnosis? When do you see the doc again?
