I am 19 years old and about 6 months ago I developed a good number of floaters in each eye. I went to the eye doctor and the retnia specialist and they all said my eyes look great. I also have perfect 20/20 vision. Has anyone else been young with no eye problems and developed floaters?

I was 15 when I got floaters. I later became near sighted. They are just a nuisance, nothing to worry about.

I was told that these floaters as you call them are actually called "nerve bundles" am I wrong? I can look at a white wall and see black dots. Sometimes I think I see a nat flying by me but it's actually these things. I don't know what even causes them. Do you? Interesting. I never said anything to anyone cause I thought it sounded crazy that I can see black dots that move when my eye moves.

I dont know about nerve bunddles. I thinks its just debris from your eye. But I heard it comes when you get older and/or are nearsighted. Not in a 19 year old guy with good eyesight. Its funny, the first month or two these things were so overwelming. Then I went home from school for the summer and I pretty much forgot about them and didnt notice them. Then about 2 months into school I start feeling stress and anxiety and now once again I notice everyone. Man these these are annoying!

Stress and anxiety will make you think they are worse. I have noticed that in the past. When things are going good, I don't notice them as much. I think when I get stressed out, I dwell on them and they seem worse.

I got floaters when I was pregnant with my first child. I had no clue what they were and thought I was going crazy. They really are annoying, I see one big one all the time, I just want to squeeze the thing out of my eyeball! I guess they are particles just floating around in the fluids of your eye. How they get in there is beyond me! But it can also mean retinal detachment so it is important to check your eyes checked right away when you see a new one! I have to get my eyes checked yearly because I have wrinkles in my retina in both eyes, the docs. think that maybe someday that will lead to retinal detachment. Oh yeah - and shortly after I saw the floaters my eyesight went from 20/20 to 20/90 so maybe they have something to do with that also.

I have had them for over a half a year and my eyesight is as good as ever. I dont think they lead to worse vision because everywhere I read it says if you're retnia is healthy then there is no threat to your eyes, they are just a nuisence. Maybe your vision worsened due to you're wrinkled retnia problem or a coincidence.
