Does every individual exposed to HSV-2 experience a primary outbreak?

I got it from my current BF who didn't even know he had it until I got tested after I started breaking out. He has never had any kind of symptoms whatsoever. Who knows how long he has had it!

Why is that some have obvious signs and symptoms and other don't? Does it have to to with our individual immune systems?

Jazz, was your boyfriend tested for it?

He tested after my results came back. He is positive too, he just never had a reason to think he was. He was tested 2 years before with a negative result. I tested with a negative result 6 months before I had a positive result.

I also tested negative about 2 months after I was exposed. Probably if I tested now I'd probably be positive for H-2. Initially my dr. was convinced that I didn't have HSV. I'm only finally going to see a dermatologist at the end of this month. It's difficult to try and have relationships when you're not even sure what exactly you have because it's never been officially diagnosed. Do your o/b's consist of blisters?

I had everything...rashes, bumps that blistered up into sores, irchiness, hard red pimples...you name the symptom for herpes...I had it. I haven't had anything at all in well over a month now, I used to have some sort of outbreak every week. Major ones were about every other week. The time around my period...oooh I was in so much pain from rashes and sores. I have a post "just wanna share" if you wanna take a look at what's worked for me.

Wow...you've had a really tough time with this...I'm sorry to hear about that. I have read your post Just wanna share. I usually have had an o/b every month with my period, although there were a couple of months where I barely had anything. I attributed that to taking Lysine. I've been kind of run down lately and was on antibiotics and have had the worst o/b in months...actual blisters which I've never had before. Have you had feelings of anger toward your boyfriend because you've had to experience all of this? Thanks btw for sharing information...it's extremely helpful. :)

You know, I never had any anger towards anyone...the only thing that bothered me is that my man never has anything wrong with him-no symptoms or anything...and I ended up getting everything at once.
