OK Here we go about a week ago my whole genital area was irritated and swollen. not a rash or anything just sore and my clothes felt tight. now for the past few days it just feels real warm ( thighs testicals groin area I geuss) it kinda moves around. During that time my girl freind was over and had a crazy idea to shave me down there,so I kinda beleive it is due to the shaving experiment. Could this be? Here is another ? my brother gets horrible cold sores all over his face, he has since he was young,If hewould have used my razor(he lives with me) could I possibbly get herpes from the razor?? Thank you

If your brother shaved just right before you used the same razor on your genitals, then there is a slim chance you got it from there.

If not, and a substantial amount of time passed, then I doubt that you got it from his razor even if he had an open blister which touched the razor. The virus doesn't live long outside the body of a person.

On the other hand, maybe you had H for a while and never had symptoms like so many here on the message board. Your girlfriend shaving you down there for the first time could have been a trigger for the virus to appear.

Finally, maybe it's not herpes at all and just irritation from the shaving. Which means the only way to know for certain is to get tested. A blood test should show if you were infected recently or for quite some time.
