Jacquie23 11-08-2004, 10:23 AM my moms legs are huge, and her ankles, and it looks really painfull, I can even see her knees anymore, and her upper body is very think and her hands are boney, has anyone delt with this or can help me? renee_ky 11-08-2004, 10:33 AM Jacquie- You should call her doctor and have them check her sodium level. They can give her medication to reduce the swelling. How is she laying? try elevating her legs with a pillow or 2, this might help a little. Renee Jacquie23 11-08-2004, 02:30 PM actually she was in the hospital when this started and they were giving her this sodem stuff, b/c the blood test said she was low, but NOW she is bad, I think the doctor said she needs to walk more. but its so hard for her to walk, with in 2 weeks she has aged SO much went form age 40 to looking 70. no joke, she don't look the same. she loks like a granny Jacquie23 11-08-2004, 02:32 PM the hospital was really bad for her Jacquie23 11-18-2004, 07:29 AM my mother just passed away. it all happend so fast, but it was such a horribul thing that it needed to happen, The doctor said her liver was MASSIVE. there was nothing they could do but keep her confortable. she was freaking out, didn't understand anything, was a total mess. and they had to drug her to get her to relax, and sleep, as she was panicing evertime she would almsot fall asleep thinking she might not wake up. oh this is so pain full but it is only my mined all the time. right before she passed away her legs were not so bad and for a moment I thought she might get better but the doctor said that there was no fulid because she hasn't eaten or drinkin anything for 2 days. I feel like my aunt killed her she was suposto be the night shift and every night she would wisper in her ear, to go that we would be ok and that we all loved her. but to leave (my aunt lost her husband to lung cancer) and I think she is a freak almost leaving my mother with no hope as my aunt had no hope. :( my aunt alwasy had no hope, the day my mother was dx'd she said she would die soon. renee_ky 11-18-2004, 09:16 AM Jacquie- I am so sorry to hear about your mother, I can not imagine what losing my mother would be like. I lost my husband to lung cancer. Please try not to feel so bitter towards your Aunt, she did not give your Mother cancer. I can understand her hopelessness feeling, at the words "lung cancer", after seeing my husband go through it, and the doctors giving us no hope. I hope you find some comfort in your heart, when you think that your Mother is no longer suffering, and no longer living with the fear of dying. As hard as it was, myself, my husbands parents, his brother and his best friend all told him it was okay to go, and we would carry him in our hearts, and we will make it through the pain of missing him. The next morning, I held his hand and told him Jesus was waiting for him, that was his last breath. I do not feel like I killed him by doing that, I think I assured him of my faith, and assured him, I will make it through it. I just said a prayer, for you. Renee |
