I'm a young male who recently had unprotected intercourse with a girl who I later found out has had many partners. I asked her if she'd ever had anything (STD's), and she said of course not, she had always been safe. About 5 days after the first contact, I developed some very small red bumps that were on a reddish patch of skin on the shaft of my penis, around the underside. The rash did not have any pain to it at all, nor did the bumps. About 3-4 days later, the bumps went away and the rash did as well. The only real thing out of the ordinary other than the bumps and rash was some itching, but that was very mild. Everywhere I've read says that herpes starts as small red bumps and develops into fluid filled blisters that crack open and leak pus. This did not happen at all. Today, about 4 or 5 days since the bumps/rash first appeared, I can hardly tell at all anything was ever there. The rash is kinda dull purple colored now, no bumps on rash anymore (just a few TINY scattered red spots around penis, no irriation or pain with them), and the entire area that was affected now looks almost completely normal. Does this sound like herpes? If not, what does it sound like? Anything I should be worried about?

i personally would get tested just to make sure. i got a swab test, but you have to have a current out break for them to do that test, so id recommend a blood test. however, my understanding is that it takes a few months for the herpes antibodies to actually show up in the blood. also, those herpes examples you described do not happen to everyone. my first out break consisted of one bump that neither "opened up" or hurt that much at all. for the most part it just itched a little bit and then went away. furthermore, even in my WORST outbreaks i havent had any sores that open up into cancors or leak fluid, just a lot of itching and visible bumps but to ease your mind i would recommend getting tested just so you know for sure.

If I were you I'd get a blood test right away. This way you'll find out whether you had it for a while or recently got it.

Here's another good reason to get tested immediately. If the test comes out positive with a high antibody count, then you probably had it for some time which means the "girl" might not have been the one to give it to you.

However, if it comes out negative and when you retest 3-4 months later it's positive, this helps prove that you indeed got herpes from her assuming that you haven't slept with anyone else since then.

well it does to me bu tthen again none of us are doctors. I have noticed rashes and a few red tiny bumps that itch and sometimes they don't so...hey. but I have noticed a few in the pubic region that I think are suspect. But one thing that I can tell you is that symptoms appear and dissappear pretty fast so get to steppin' to the doctor so that they can tell you what's up and even if it is it is not the end of the world and you arn't anole you have already taken a pretty big step by actually reaching out and getting resopnses from people who you may be in the same boat with...Some folk stay in denial for a while ( like I did ) and it just gives you more to think about when you think about all the mistakes you have made in life. And on top of all of that it does not seem like the worst ob in the world so count your blessings, that it MAY be hepres and nothing else...cause things could always be worst when you think that you have it bad....cause someone else has it worse than you do.
