I know that you get a cold when your immune system is low, but are there any other reasons why one would get frequent colds. I have allergies, so it's hard to tell the difference, but I feel like I get a cold once a month and I really hate it because it is making it difficult for me to function. Anyone have any thoughts?

Most likely you are having reaction to allergies. Pollen count varies off and on and if you are allergic to many things, then, you will have reaction when one or more of those is in the air.

Do you take meds for your allergies? If not, try irrigating sinuses with salt water solution to keep irritants washed out.

do you smoke?? Even if you don't, and you think it could be a cold-take lots of Vitamin C. Your body does not keep that vitamin it flushes it out, so you can take a good dose. My mom smokes like two a day, but takes up to 2000 mg of Vit C. (she is an RN), and she said she hasn't had a cold in two years. Keep in mind too, a cold usually lasts 7-10 days, so if it lasts less than that, it probably isn't a cold. HOpe you find out-at the very least, go to your doc.
