if you have genital herpes and are not having an outbreak...can someone preform oral sex on you and sex without getting it?

I have had only one outbreak (thank God). the guy in question that gave it to me tested positive. I am getting my bloodwork done also...I'm sure I have it if he does and since I've had one outbreak (4 months ago).

Thanks

From what I have read you can still catch it when there is no outbreak. There are certain times between outbreaks called Viral Shedding. Some people say you can tell when this is happening. I would like to know the truth about this as well.

If you need to find out if the virus is present in your skin, just put some H202 and you will see it. If it bubbles, then is is present. It has worked for me. I have been able to tell when the virus is present without actually getting an OB. Besides, H020 is an anticeptic. It should make the are cleaner. :D

Some people can have an outbreak and not even know they are having one. It's not always in the form of a blister or sore. It can be just dry skin or fatigue, some people get headaches or sore muscles. So an "outbreak" is never the same for anyone. I got Herpes from my BF and he didn't even know he had it. It wasn't until after I tested and found out what I had that he got tested and found he was positive and he had it first. He's never had any kind of symptoms whatsoever.

I think if you are aware of the herpes and aware of your body, you can tell when the virus is activated (so that you have some of it shedding.) But I think different people have different levels of sensitivity to their bodies. Of course, some are also in denial, or just plain too busy to notice. It does take a lot of constant attention.

visited with a dr. today...she said that I can always be shedding even no signs of outbreak (which is SCAREY). I have had the very first GH outbreak 4 months ago and nothing since...well until today due to my period I got today..I just feel tingling...no bumps. I use hydrogen peroxide and car max.

I am not sexually active...scared to even go down there...

My dr. says to use seran wrap if I want oral sex performed....i almost passed out when she told me that...I'd rather have nothing...oh honey...can you grab the saran wrap please....yeah right!!

I have GH, but when I feel something it coming on....can I kiss somebody or off limits to everything.

I just found a wonderful guy and told him everything...he said my honesty made him want to love me even more....honesty does pay off...
