Anyone ever take Celebrex or Bextra? Can these drugs help Lyme related aches and pains?

Hi TICKED-OFF. I have not heard of Bextra, but I believe that Celebrex is sometimes prescribed for Lyme symptoms. Just make sure there are no problems with it like there was with Vioxx.

Hey Ticked-Off -

I read in the New York Times this morning that testing is showing that Bextra is showing the same problems as Vioxx. Twice as many heart attacks and strokes than in people given placebos.

I would talk to your doctor about MSM or Glucosamine and Chondroitan (sp?). They are supplements and are said to help with joint pain and cartiledge.

Take care,

I'v been on Celebrex and Bextra, and neither did anything for me. I have yet to find anything that helps with joint pain. HTH! Goodluck!

Thanks for the response

I just do not want to take too many over the counter pain killers. (aspirin, tylenol, etc...) I wonder which is worse for you.
