Hi, I'm an 18yo male and being 5'8", I always feel kind of small. Maybe I should just get used to it, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to; it really hurts my self esteem.

Is there any chance of me growing some more, this late in the game? And what can I do to increase the chances?

I don't know if this will help you or not - but my dad was a couple inches shorter than you when he graduated from High School. When he was around 19, he grew about 8 inches in height. He still amazes people all these years later at his high school reunions.

My son was 5'8" when he went to college and came back closer to 6'. Yes boys in general can continue to grow into their early 20's from what I've seen and heard from other parents.
Good luck! :D

hm well, is it as common if you're already sort of "stopped growing"?
because my mom measures me every month and I haven't gotten any taller since about age 15.

Yes, some people can grow until their twenties. But most don't. So you might get taller, you might not. I would not expect to grow if I were you, but if you do, then all the better. If not, 5'8" isn't that short

I have an 18 year old son that was 5 2 at 17 and we had his growth hormones checked. He did receive injections but was told he probably wouldn't grow until he was 20. The doctor said that boys grow until 23 so there is plenty of time. Eat well and give your body the best advantage that you can. Hang in there and speak to your family doctor if you have great concern. It is hard to be patient and wait. They can take x-rays that tell your bone growth and tell you about where you are in your development.

lsiise, How tall are the people in your family? Are most short or tall?

You still have a chance to grow more. Techically you are not done growing but but this may be your height. The stat jump all over the place on this one but if you were over 21 then I would say you may not grow anymore but there is time. I am 22 and been the same height of 5'10 since high school. I am ok with my height though.
