Oxycodone also comes in 15 and 30 mg doses. They're called Roxicodone. Check with your pharmacy, because they may have to order them for you.

I know what Percoset is, it has 325 mg of Tylenol with 5 mgs Oxycodone. What I'm referring to is Roxicodone. It comes in tablet form 5, 15, and 30 mg strengths. I know because I've had all of them to use as breakthrough medication when I was on Oxycontin. This is pure Oxycodone with nothing else in it. Check with your pharmacy, where you get your scripts filled. They may have to look it up, but I know without a doubt it is available.

Purdue Pharma also makes an oral solution that is 20Mg per 1 Ml dose, but it really sounds to me like you would GREATLY benefit from being on Oxycontin 40Mg q8h although some PM drs will only RX q12h dosing on Oxycontin because of all the fuss Purdue made. You'd find your pain relief much, much smoother with a longer lasting pain med. which in turn lets you live life in longer than 4 hour intervals.

Sorry about you getting false information on the meds. I have the same medical problems you do, plus throw in Irritable Bowel Syndrome and tumors in the lung. I have had one lung surgery already and they've found tumors in the other lung now. Anyway, back to the meds. I had read it on these boards (I think it was Shoreline who mentioned it), so I asked the pharmacist and he had never despensed it. I stood right there, next to him, while he looked it up in he book of meds and then when he called the supplier. He was told in addition to the 5, it also comes in 15 and 30 mgs.by Roxi. This is no BS! I have no reason to tell you anything that isn't true. Like I said before, I actually took them for BT meds for several months. Maybe Shorline (Dave) will back this up, because I think he is using the 30's himself right now, I think. I feel bad you aren't getting the straight scoop from your Doc and the Pharmacy, but they are WRONG!!! I haven't done it yet, but you might try doing a search for Roxicodone. It seems I looked it up on the net two or three years ago. I'll try looking myself when I get some free time.

Director is correct on the Roxicodone. It comes in 5mg, 15mg, & 30mg. If you do a search on the FDA database you will find this information. You can also look up Roxane Industries and it should give you the info also. Some pharmacies do not carry it. Your pharmacy can order it for you though. This would cut down on the amount of pills you need to take daily. I think it also comes in the liquid form....not sure though.

as of a few months ago there are generic roxi's on the market.ive been taking the 15's for about a year.they are filled as "oxycodone" ,the generic that is.
you are taking 20mg so maybe filling 2/3 as 15mg and the rest as 5mg it would be cheaper if the doc writes it that way.
that brings your daily # pills down by 50%.
shoreline would know.i do know the 15's are alot more $ than the 5's.

Sorry I can't give you any price figures, because when I was taking them a couple years ago, I had a co-pay with me insurance. I think they charged me $15.00, but what they are if you're paying full retail, I just couldn't tell you. Scotty brought up an interesting point though. If he's taking the 15's as generic Oxy, maybe they make a generic 30 now too. If you ever get bumped up or need a higher dose when you see you see your doc, that would be a way for you to go and probably cheap too. I do know when I took the 15's and 30's and they depensed Roxis, they were pretty expensive, but I just don't know how much. Like I said, I had a co-pay. Let us know what your doctor says when you go in to get your next script.

check out the FDA'a website.they list all availible generics and the manufacturer.
i confirmed my last rx to be a misfill from that site.i recieved a generic from ETHEX labs,problem was they only make the 5's and i was rx'd 15mg.it took me a week to figure out what the hell was wrong w/me.

Scotty..What happened after you discovered the pharmacy had done a misfill? Did they make it good for you? I do know they can't take meds back after you leave with them, so I was wondering how they worked it out or did they? Mistakes happen all the time, that's why I really watch what they're filling the RX with and how many. My wife had them give her a totally wrong med one time.

If you're paying out-of-pocket for your meds, you really should check the prices at sams club or costco. You don't have to be amember to use the pharmacy at either store (fereral law). I realize that neither one may be close to you but if they are, their prices are way better than anywhere else.

after spending the weekend in bed and struggling through mon and tuesday of the past week i checked ethex website and sure enough,only make the 5's.
i asked shoreline for some help and then i called the pharmacy and insisted that they pull the 5's out and look at my file.id been taking 15's for a year.i could hear the concern in the pharmacists voice when she confirmed i got the 5's.
what really pissed me off was that i called the day i filled them and questioned the fill.the label was correct and said 15mg but the pills did not match the description on the btl.the pharmacist on at that time told me it was a new generic and obviosly did not check the pills.
i suffered for about 10 days.the night before figuring this out i was telling my wife that the meds just werent helping and i was going to call the surgeon.i could not take the feeling in my legs.i didnt even consider that i was going through withdrawal as i did call the pharmacy regarding the new pills.
when i showes up at the pharmacy that night they had the pills filed already and the pharmacist,not the one that did the misfill,could not apologize enough.i let her know how serious a mistake it was,especially since i called because i thought something wasnt right.
they replaced the whole script and took back the 5's.i should have taken some 5's out so theyre count would be even more off.lucky for them the pharmacist who was there when i exchanged the meds was very nice and sincerely apologetic,and she was cute too.

thats whats so great about this forum.we learn from eachothers experiences.
i only thought to check my meds because in a previous post shore mentioned the Ethex generic roxi 5mg.
learning whats out there to help us was not as easy before the internet became part of everday life.

Hey Jonny...That's great news you having the scripts in the mail. Not only are you getting the 5 & 15's, but you're getting a months supply to boot. I'm glad we were able to help you out. Amazing isn't it, when you have the doctor and pharmacist tell you they don't make them and then have people on this forum know differently. I remember the first time I got the 15's for BT pain, my doc didn't know it came that way. I will say in his defense, although he'd never prescribed it, he took my word and wrote the script for it. I was ahead of the game and had my pharmacist order them ahead of time. I'm not sure where they have to get the meds, but the pharmacy I go to can order one day before 2:00 and they'll have it at 10:00 the next morning.
Take care and I hope this arrangement with the new meds helps you. Don't forget (or be surprised) that as far as I know these will be tabs. I don't know if they have them in capsule form or not. One thing for sure, you'll be taking a lot less pills each day!

It'll probably be filled as oxycodone rather than brand mame "roxicodone"
until this year there was no generic,only "roxicodone,from roxanne, so dr's write roxicodone,youre getting just oxy,no acet.
if a dr rx's percs ,you would most likely get generic oxy w/acet.

It also depends on where the doctor signs the script. If he signs on the line where it says substitutions are permitted, then you can get the generic. If he signed where it says dispense as written, then you'll get the brand name. You may want to discuss this with your doctor next time you see him, especially if you aren't able to get generics.
