I was treating strep throat and ear infection with a prescription of antibiotics. I started feeling better a few days after I started it. Finally, near the end of the script I was pretty much back to normal. I just took the last of the meds three days ago. Now I'm battling another sore throat (burning and painful to swalllow) and a slight stuffy nose.

I thought I might be getting the sore throat from the dry air in the house since we're using the furnace now. I've dealt with that before. I just don't remember the sore throats being continuous with no relief.

Could I be getting sick again?

Strep can return. It happened to me a couple of years ago. I finished the antibiotic on the Monday and was back at the doctor on Thursday. He retested me and sure enough, another strep infection (or the same one that didn't respond to the meds - not quite sure). Your best bet is to get checked out.
Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks for the info. It would be my luck to be sick for Halloween and now sick again for my birthday!

I seem to get strep throat very easily. About 3 years ago, I had strep throat 6 times in a row. I would feel better for a few days and then the horrible sore throat and white pus would come back. I had to keep being put on antibiotics. Finally after about 6 courses of antibiotics (not the same one) the strep was finally gone. I have found augmentin xr to be the best for me.
