View Full Version : Root canal after a crown?

I had a crown put on and that night, while brushing my teeth, I could feel pain when a hair from the toothbrush touched a particular spot. Other than this I had no pain. The assistant put the crown on & had problems, taking it off once and putting it on again before it set. I went back in several weeks later and the dentist said I needed a root canal now. Is it possible the crown isn' properly sealed? Or, do I just need a root canal? Should this have been done right away? Will it cost more now & could it damage the crown and cause the crown not to last as long?

I have had root canala after crowns... and I sure asked the same question - would it weaken the crown.... Was told perhaps a possibility;;;;; but I have never had any problems at all.. :)
