hi all, i normally post on fibro board. I kmow a bit about epelepsy as i work with people who have it but tonight i was watching tv and my partner was calling me and i could hear but not answer, itwas strange? he was next to me, i was in a trance. Never happened before, does this sound like epelepsy? cheers, april

Hard to tell. Sounds like something to talk about with your doctor, though. There are several types of seizures where you hear what is going on but cannot respond right...

It sounds like my sister's absence seizures. She'll stare off into space eating, you have to snap your fingers or scream really loud to get her attention during those attacks. I would definitly ask you're doctor though, get some blood tests done to see if you're lacking any essential stuff.

One good way to see if someone is having an absence seizure is to touch their cheek. They will not respond to their name being called or to touch if it is seizure. They can be very brief, usually...
There are also partial seizures that start with a blank stare....
