Which is the best priobiotic that works directly on the gut for stomach yeast? I read culterelle does anything else? Thanks for all the replys on my bacteria infection. Read that olive leaf does kill bacteria-but have yeast already too. Don;t know how to deal with this. I have been taking priobiotica and have noticed no difference. And also acidolifulus no difference either. The flagly causes severve bloating so know it activated something more.

Spirit,
The best is "Probiotica" from Wal Mart. It is not hurt by stomach acids. Bloating is caused by im-balance in bacteria!!!
Get your Doc to give you something for Candida Albicans---Yeast infection---. It starts in your mouth---with thrush and goes all the way to your anus. You have to kill the yeast and replace it with friendly bacteria.

There is no known test for yeast infections. You can see thrush as white spot in the mouth and it can appear as a rash like jock itch, diaper rash, under nails and seen no other places. You can have it with its many effects and cannot be tested for it except in some cultured tests. If it in your system(blood) there is no test but can affect every organ in your body. It certainal can't be seen in your rectum/anus.
As you know bread as well as most all baked goods have yeast in them but you can't see it. It's there because the dough rises. So, it must be there.
Candida Albicans is a single cell fungus and is always present in Your GI tract and genital areas but you can't see it. If it grows out of control and becomes dominant it causes an infection -- called Candidiasis or yeast infection. It can affect all parts of the body and can cause alot of symptoms like:
Diarrhea, constipation, headaches , extreme fatigue, abdominal pain, sore mouth/tongue - throat---muscles -joints, numbness in all extremities and face, acne, night sweats, itching rectally& vaginitis, urinary tract infections(bladder and kidneys), depression, anxiety/mood swings, sinus problems, problems with the thyroid gland, adrenal glands and pancreas. This is by no means a complete list.
Candida lives and thrives on sugar --the best way to get rid of it is an anti-candida diet and take a yeast killing agent ---there are many on the market.
There are many good books avaiable about how to deal with Yeast problems--The Yeast Connection, The Yeast Syndrome ---these have been around for 20 years.
I suggest you be very pro active if you're going to take antibiotics.
Taking a probiotic supplement is not enough to get yeast under control after taking a strong antibiotic???

Where do you get info on the diet (yeast free). What if your yogurt has some sugar in it. Is this okay?

Spirit-I have the same question...
If a pap test doesn't show any yeast (and we all know there is no reliable test for it in the gut) how do you get an MD to give you the proper meds? I would love to take an extended course of Diflucan or something, but they won't prescribe it unless they see yeast in the pap test results-I even went to an examine sort of faking a vaginal yeast infection, just for a chance...but with no luck.
I know there are a NUMBER of herbal remedies...but how is a person supposed to know the most effective one and the dose??and I've read that some can be harmful if the wrong dose is taken?
this is very frustrating!!

Try to buy yogurt with no added sugar.
Yeast thrives on sugar, so if you starve it of sugar, then you should clear the infection. This is why most alcohols are a no, no, as they contains huge amounts of yeast and sugar.
If you want to use herbs, do not do this yourself, but consult someone who is qualified in herbal medicine. Also, go and see a homeopath. There are lots of good homeopathic remedies for yeast infections too.

Culturelle is very good but is only one strain of bacteria and we have at least 400 in our GI tract. I just did about 9 hours of research last night through the internet and discovered a line of products by Garden of Life. Primal Life has 14 strains of bacteria and Optazyme has many enzymes. I will be sending in for this next week. If you type in "Garden of Life products" you should see many websites that advertise and sell this. You may also be able to find this in a health food store.
