What is everyone's favorite way to unwind at the end of the day in order to help them relax and get ready for sleep? I was on Zoloft, Buspar and I found out these meds were having the opposite effect on me..instead of relaxing me they were helping to give me insomnia. I am starting to feel better and can sleep a bit more but my problem is that at the end of the day I am still a bit keyed up from work, having 2 children, cooking, cleaning..etc.. I need some ideas. What is your favorite thing to do to help you relax at the end of a lond day? thanks :)

Lots of really slow time before bed. Like three hours for me works best. Also I turn the lights down real low and just start to slow things down. I dont know if you have the time to do that but it helps. Also another thing to do is meditate and clear your mind of everything before you go to bed. Just sit in a quite room and focus on your breathing for like 15 mintues. One last thing I found helpful and a counselor recomended is to have worry time. All you do is sit down and write down all your worries and what your going to do about them. That way when you fall asleep they wont be in your head. Hope that helps.

The Clothes You Choose To Wear At Bed Time Is Also Very Important! Please Choose Soft/comfortable Type. I Notice That It Make A Different.
Also You Might Want To Watch Some Music Videos (soft Types) Before Getting Into Bed.
Do Not Forget To Try Out A Little Exercise In The Afternoon.
Also Take Multi Vitamine.

Very good post! I might add that exercise in the morning helps me.

I usually fill the whirlpool tub with warm water, turn it on, and just soak for 1/2 hour. Don't tell my wife, but I also use the silly smelling aromatherapy bath oil she has. I hate to admit it, but the euchalyptus (sp) scent really relaxes me.
