Yes but with ortho-tri cyclen it is hard to skip periods because it is a triphasic pill, meaning it has 3 different dosages of hormone. As soon as your body is taken off of the high dosage hormone (which is the last week of pills) the withdrawal from the hormone is what causes a period. When you go to the next pack directly you are going from the high back to the low...this is why its hard to skip a period on a triphasic pill. If you want to be able to skip periods you should maybe switch to a monophasic pill. I am also on ortho-tricyclen and I tried to do this...I got my period anyway and then my next period came a week early. You could try to skip it as some women can do it on the triphasic pills but there is a high chance you will still get your period or have spotting. I have learned how to change the date I will get my period but I am unable to skip a period. It's worth a try as every woman's body acts differently... just be prepared incase bleeding does occur.

Yes if you want to skip your period you don't take the green sugar placibo pills, you automatically go straight to the the next pack. For example...I am going on in cruise in Jan and I was suppose to get my period the week I was going, I tried to skip my period but I bled anyway for like 5 days like a regular period, however since I started my pills early...I finished them a week early than normal and then i got my period one week early, now my period is on a diff schedule and I won't have it on the cruise. I know it sounds really confusing, sorry about that. When will you finish this months pack like when do you take the last active pill? maybe I can help you see if you could change your period ahead of time

If you will be starting your inactive pills on the dec 5th then you should get your period on the 7th or 8th of December(ususally for me its tues or wed). You said that you would be seeing your boyfriend on the 26th.. I don't think you will have your period this week (correct me if im wrong). It seems your next set of inactive pills will start on Jan 2nd meaning your period shouldn't come until Jan 4th or Jan 5th. I think you will be fine for seeing your boyfriend and period-free :) you may not have to worry about skipping or changing.

Well since i had never taken them, i wasnt real sure when my period would actually start.. i am goin home on the 5th... so a 4th or 5th start day would be okay.. so I shouldnt really try and skip it then... it wouldnt start like the first day of my inactive pills???

Your period usually starts on the second or third pill. I take my first inactive pill on sunday and by tuesday or wednesday I will get my period. I say don't worry about skipping them...you should be fine for when you see your bf.

Yasmin is a monophasic birth control pill. So you should be able to skip periods with this pill.
