Hi, I'm new here, but I hope my information will help you.
Anything with "itis" at the end of it means an irritation or inflammation, therefore cervicitis would mean inflamed or irritated cervix. Metaplasia are cell changes that are benign, they are not pre-cancerous or cancerous. That one got me when I first got my pathology report. I think it could be related to the tissues healing itself after a procedure...mine showed up on my first follow up in Sept after my LEEP in June. Hope that helps.

06/04 CIN3, LEEP 06/04, biopsy showed CIS, microinvasion, clear margins
09/04 first follow up biopsy, ECC and pap all clear
