Hi!

I have been on Ortho-tricylcen (low) for about 3 years. This month I stopped taking the pills because my perscription was not being re-filled and once I finally got the pills, I thought it would be better to skip a month rather than to have to double up for 3 days in a row (I would be so sick if I did that).

Well, today it seems like I got my period when I actually just got over my last cycle about a week ago. My breast hurt and I have minor cramps. I don't like this! I want to go back on the pill.

I'm not really concerned about getting pregnant right now since I just came out of a long relationship and have had it with men for the time being :)
But, I did like how the pill controlled my cramps and made my periods so regular.

My question is, has anyone here ever taken a little break from the BC pill? I'm not sure what to do now. I was a Sunday starter, so should I just start a new pack on this Sunday, or should I wait out the whole month and start a pack at the time I should be starting one....
I know these are questions I should ask my doctor but I don't have one right now and won't until the 1st of the year because of insurance issues.

Any advise is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

When there is a withdrawal from the hormone in the pill you will bleed. I think it would be fine if you started your pills this Sunday and got back on a schedule. The only thing is if you do have sex use a back up method until you finish the pack since you did miss a week or so of your pills.
