This may sound stupid but It sounds as if you have enough information to find her as you have her SS# etc, maybe you should write a letter to a talk show like Oprah or somthing. They do that stuff all the time. They also know people who can find people. It wouldn't hurt to write a letter. Honestly, I'm not trying to sound like an idiot but I think if I wanted to find somebody that might be the direction I head if all else fails. Good luck to you.

There are so many search engines to check...I can't post sites so I'm not much help. Also you want to hire a Private investigator instead of an attorney. I don't know what your entitled to as far as information but you can try talking to the social security office as see what they can give you....There are tons of public records you can access for free. You may have to do a state to state search. I'm not sure if there is one big site for death certificates (just in case) Her social is attached to her no matter what. Do you know what high school she attended.....maybe she has gone on a site to find high school friends..they have ways to get in touch. By having all that info on her you are steps ahead to finding her. Montel Williams show {removed}....I know he works with a certain P.I. Good luck keep us posted. Remember however, it may not be worth finding her or she may not want to be found. I'd start with the social security office...if you have proof that she is your mother )birth certificate, you might get something. I sure hope so.

My advise is really different from the others. I think you should talk to a pyschologist not an attorney or PI. You said you were taken away because she abused you and then she disappear from your life...your 26 yrs old...why would you want to find such a cruel person that could do that to a child? My advise is let it go and get on with your life, just like she's getting on with hers. Sorry if this sounds harsh but there's too much life out there to stay in the past. Wishing you life and happiness..Njoylife
