I saw someone had mentioned headaches from being on BC as feeling like sinus pain and it occured to me that my headaches which I now get every day and some don't go away even with sleep and drugs---are worse and worse...and I wonder if it's from my pill? It seems since being on Yasmin my sinus pain and amount of infections has worsened!! I get one every time the weather changes, which here in LA, is quite often! Has anyone else had an increase in headaches or sinus pain since starting the pill? But it's going to be 3 years for me since I've been on it, in Jan. if I don't get off....
I also read in my packet of info you get w/ the pill, that headaches are a common side effect....

Hi Rush,
It was me that posted about having bad sinus headaches. Yasmin really made me sick. I was very nauseated, bad headaches that felt like sinus but sinus meds didn't relieve it, and mood swings. This was just two weeks into the medication though. It may be coincidence, but I have stopped now for one day, and my headaches are nearly gone. They are still there, but not as bad as before. I felt it real bad in back of my eyes and it got worse when I got on the computer. I've NEVER had eye problems or sinus problems like this before until I started taking Yasmin. But, as always, medications work differently for different people. I am REALLY sensitive to medications and have to be careful.
If I were you, since you have been on for so long, I would talk to your doctor and let him know how long this has been going on. Maybe he can change you to something else and see if it helps any. As for me, I won't do birth control ever again. I just could not function right on it. I hope you get relief soon:)

hmm--It does sound, to me like you had sinus problems on the pill although as you said the sinus meds didn't help for me they usually do but even on antibiotics I can't shake an infection off now! I think the pill is just making it harder for other meds to work on me or something, I don't know but I do get just what your talking about--the pain behind my eyes. I am thinking I will get off of my bc totally next month, when I see my ob-gyn for my yearly...

Well, I've been off of the pill for 6 days now and I do feel better, but like you, I cannot shake this sinus stuff. My headaches seemed to get better for a day or so, but now it is back full force. I have a bunch of pain in my forehead and I have shooting pain all the time through my head. I am going to try antibiotics next and see how it goes because it does look like I have an infection now.
I'm still not sure if the b/c had anything to do with this, but I've never experienced this type of sinus before. It's never gone on for this long. Over two weeks now. I need some relief soon especially with the holidays coming up. I tell ya, I'm a big grouch with all of this.
How have you been feeling?

Chantel,
I've been getting worse too..I don't know what it is, how's the weather where you are? It could be the weather change I don't know, it's still 70 degrees here...ug. But, the pain in my face & head has worsened and I'm pretty sure my infection is back, I'm wondering if when I was on those antibiotics a month ago, it just didn't go away, only felt like it did for awhile? I only felt relief for about 2 weeks now my mucus is all yellow and just as bad as before! I know I have a few allergens like pet hair and dust around the house, but I don't think that alone would cause infection after infection like this....what do you do for releif before you can get to a dr??

Hi Rush:)
I usually get temporary relief, but I take Advil. It helps with the headache some and has something in there for colds too. I've tried prescription antihistamine, which by the way is what I usually take(and it usually helps), but no luck this time around. I'm not sure what's going on. I thought maybe the flu, but I haven't run any fever. My mucous is yellow too. It just seems like it all stays in that same area and never moves. I guess that's where the headaches are coming from.
I'm actually not supposed to take a whole lot of Advil because I have Ulcers. Just be careful when you take it and make sure you are not allergic to it or anything. Ask your doctor first.
I hope we both find some relief soon.
Have a great Holiday!

Have a Great Holiday, too Chantel! :)
I took Tylenol sinus daytime pills today b/c I am out of my sudaphed 12 hour stuff (really strong and always gives me cotton mouth but it works!) but I did notice that yesterday when I took my vitamins Like i'd quit doing, I felt beter and didn't blow my nose as much! Go figre!
But the tylenol seems to have relieved the head pain somewhat!
