With 11 Or More Readings Per Month:
Average B/P on 100 MGS of Atenolol & 5/20 Lotrel
August 2004- 116/68
September 2004- 116/67
October 2004- 117/69
November 2004- 116/68
Average B/P at the Doc: 156/85
If this isn't white-coat then I don't know what is.... I need to be weaned off by my specialist. I think that the evidence is conclusive enough. My systolic was aaround 134-140 even when I was 26, I am 34 now. I just have a Type A-Anxious Personality. It just brings my Diastolic down about 7 points & it was normal to begin with.

Yeah. You've got white-coat alright. If you get weaned off by your specialist (he/she prolly has a white-coat ;p) then your BP will be high everytime you get it checked by your specialist (remember, you have white-coat) and all he/she will do is say that you have high BP and they have to put you back on the meds when really it is probably just the white-coat doing it. So, only choice would be to wean off yourself and monitor your BP yourself.

Thanks for your input! I think that by measuring it myself it is pretty conclusive. I will got to the specialist just for piece of mind. If I had a monitor right now, I think that it would go in the circluar file. I had like 112/56 last night around 5:30 P.M. on the meds. Is that low enough? Give me a break.

My BP right now is 112/67. I'm 17. No worries, your BP is good. I would think someone with hypertension would have a higher diastolic than yours regardless of meds.
