i stopped using BCP a week ago. 5 days after i stopped, i started bleeding. it was light at first, then by the second morning so so heavy that a overnight pad only lasted me 3 hours. by that afternoon it slowed down, and today, the third day, it just about stopped.
while on BCP my periods were exactly 3 days very light.
my question is: is this just my body's way of reacting to the lack of horomones in my system? will i get another period a month from now or will it come according to the pills (which would be next week)?
prior to BCP (2 years ago) my periods were heavy, irregular, accompanied by agonizing cramps. my doc said it was because my reproductive organs did not hit peak maturity. i am now 23 years old and this is my first time off birth control. i'd like to see how my body reacts...
anyone with any experience?

Hi:)
I just recently stopped my birth control too. I was on Yasmin and my body just could not take all of the symptoms. Anyway, what I wanted to tell you was that this is my second time trying birth control, and the first time I stopped, I had my period for 2 whole weeks and it was really heavy. After that, I was back on my regular schedual. I think it's your bodies way of reacting to getting off all of a sudden. I wish you luck and I hope someone else can help you here.
