. The first is insoluble fiber found in whole grains and vegetables. It does not dissolve and keeps food and by-products of digestion moving quickly through our intestinal tracts. The other type is soluble fiber. It is found in fruits, beans and oatmeal, and it does dissolve in our intestines. In doing so, soluble fiber can bind fat and carry it out with the trash (so to speak)
Have you considered trying the capsule from of metamucil or just plain psyllium husk capsules like Harry's wife uses? Also what kind of irritation in your colon are you referring to with the soluble fiber?
